It is hard to argue against the notion that film is the single greatest art form that has ever existed at this current point in time. After all, it is an art form that combines things like visual appeal, storytelling, music, performance and a bunch of other really incredible things all of which are amazing on their own but become even better when they are incorporated into a single package. A big part of helping people to discover movies and potentially engage with an art form that is entirely more cerebral in general is the culture of film festivals.
Going to the cinema is a lot of fun, but when you do so at a film festival it would end up bringing about an entirely different type of experience. The cultural reforms that are being seen in Saudi Arabia coupled with the immense wealth and opulence that the country has on offer means that there will likely be a lot of incredible film festivals in that particular country. That’s truly amazing when you consider just how diverse Arabic cinema is and how it can be centralized in this country and made far more prominent without a shadow of a doubt.
As a result of the fact that this is the case, people might just start going to Saudi Arabia just to see what new movies have come out. This country might also turn into a hub for South Asian cinema which has long struggled to find a place where it can be exhibited to the general public. There are a lot of things to be excited about with the cultural reforms that are currently going on all in all.
